Corporate Social Responsibility

In addition to pursuing its own business expansion, Stella International puts significant emphasis on sharing its success with society in return. It plays an active role in the local communities, fulfilling its commitment to the underprivileged as one aspect of its corporate social responsibility.

Community Services

To bring hope and care to the needy while enhancing social interaction and mutual understanding between Stella International and the local communities, the Company organized several visits to the underprivileged communities in Mainland China.

2006:

  • Donation of 40,000 uniforms to beneficiaries in the provinces of Guangxi, Yunnan, Shannxian and Guizho, China
  • Brought uniforms for 5,000 Lingnan Institute of Technology students in flood-ravaged Yulin, Guangxi province and paid a visit to the place. Met with officials about labor exportation measures to help settle the problem of unemployment.

2007:

  • Donation of 8,000 sets of uniforms to underprivileged families in Henan Province. Volunteers also served and assisted the families by ways of personal visits and talking to the disabled.

  • Partnered with Timberland and the Office of Poverty in Baokang, Hubei Province, China in donating some 38,000 school uniforms to students of Ningyuan Prevocational and Technical Institute, and another 33,630 items of clothing in Baokang

  • Helped to repaint the gates and teaching buildings of Ninh Giang private high school in Ninh Giang District, Hai Duong Province, Vietnam

  • Partnered with Clarks in visiting the Haiphong School for the Visually Impaired in Vietnam, and helped building schooling facilities

Caring for the Environment

We aim to conduct business in harmony with the environment. As such, our policies include the following:

  • An environmental management policy that covers all waste streams and production cycles

  • An emphasis on pollution management and control procedures that includes plant operation and maintenance procedures

  • Special treatment of gaseous pollutants before discharge

  • Special treatment of wastewater before discharge

Also, our production processes are supervised at the national level in China and Vietnam by the countries’ respective environmental protection agencies. Presently, we fully comply with the applicable PRC and Vietnamese laws and regulations on environmental protection in all material respects.
